Summer Scapes: Light up the Night

Submitted to What's New

If you get the feeling that Creator's Studio is all about our backyards this summer … you’d be right 😉 In the last few years, yards have become an extension of our homes, allowing us a space to show off our design flair in the open air. We can’t get enough time in our backyards, enjoying our gardens, or polishing up our small outdoor spaces. We all know that lighting goes a long way to setting the mood, and the right outdoor lights add warmth, ambience, and a touch of magic to our yards.

A string of lights is a simple way to add elegance and interest along a fence or other wall.

Our Rust-Oleum experts show you how to bump up a simple outdoor light set by spray painting your string lights to match your décor.

If you have trees or another building to attach it to, bring those lights up and across to add some sparkle to your piece of night sky, a la Mohawk Home

In last summer's Trash to Treasure, blogger TheNavagePatch used a bit of ingenuity and some Rust-Oleum flat black spray to upcycle an old pair of brass sconces into these gorgeous Mason Jar Sconce lights.

Outdoor lights take a beating from the sun, rain, and other weather. DivaDIY shows us how to quickly and easily give your lights a new life with Oil Rubbed Bronze.

With a few inexpensive items, this DIY tabletop fire box creates a small-scale firepit vibe with beautiful flickering light.

Cheap and cheerful outdoor lighting?! We’re in! Check out these fun tin can lanterns – the battery tea lights give these a gorgeous soft glow, whether they are hanging from a tree or a sitting on a chair on the lake dock.

These are some of our favorite outdoor lighting looks ... but we're pretty sure all of you will have a whole lot more to share! Join us in the comments below to show us your summer lighting projects and inspirations.
