Why did you join Creator's Studio?
I was looking for opportunities to build a relationship with a product company (paint, etc) and I came across Creator's Studio; I got involved because I knew Rust-Oleum was a great company. It was just as Creator's Studio was getting up and going.

What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community?
Trying product and building a true and authentic community. I love how many people are actively involved and that Rust-Oleum really cares about the community members.

How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger?
"Well rounded."
I dream of DIY and decorating; however, it's not my actual profession, but rather a true passion and hobby. I'm also a mom of 2, this also isn't my profession, but does take up most my time. (My sister/blog partner is a mom of 7 and registered dietitian).

What creative areas do you like to focus on?
Interior design and decor. My sister is the one who's awesome at all the little details!

What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product? How has it helped with your DIY projects?
This is hard to answer because I have several: I really liked the countertop transformation kit, I love the spray paints, I really love  the spray paint comfort grip (I feel like I could paint a house with that thing)!!!, the Wipe New product is totally awesome, and the Spar Urethane is the best. I'm sure I'm missing something that I could go on and on about. All of these products have helped me achieve a brand new look for a fraction of the cost of replacing it (i.e., countertop and vinyl siding!) I'm excited for upcoming projects!

What interests you most about DIY projects?
I grew up in a home where my parents did a lot of projects themselves, so it's ingrained in me to do the same. But I also really enjoy DIY; especially when it's hard to find something pre-made that I like (oh, and I'm very frugal).

What's the best DIY project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?
The best DIY project was our backyard makeover; it's obviously not one specific project but the most rewarding. This tested our endurance and taught us more about perseverance than we ever thought we should know.

What's the most difficult project you have tackled?
The backyard makeover! It was a ton of work, short time period, and we had never done several of the projects before. Well worth it for the outcome!

If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design and why?
I'd definitely do interior/exterior design (remodels). I think it's fun to be creative with what you have.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.
I grew up on a farm and I drove a tractor before I drove a car. I also grew sweet corn and sold it at a local market to put myself through college.

What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?
You are unique. If there is something you can't find, perhaps you are supposed to create it.

What book(s) are on your nightstand right now?
My Bible.

What's your all time favorite food?
Humm, well favorite beverage…COFFEE!
