We're so pleased to be profiling AmAtHome today in our member feature series! She's one of the original members in Creator's Studio, and since joining, she's been an incredible and constant source of DIY advice and inspiration.

Why did you join Creator's Studio?
To be inspired to do more DIY projects such as home improvements, recycle/repurpose, or home decor.

What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community?
The interaction with all the other members, as well as the moderators - they are always responsive when help is needed (which is often in my case!)

How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger?
I am the co-owner of a recruiting company. We help companies find the best people to fill job openings, mostly in engineering and executive manufacturing positions.

What creative areas do you like to focus on?
I love recycling/repurposing found items.

What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product?
Ooh, tough questions! It's really a toss-up between all the Krud Kutter products to help me clean and prep for projects and all the spray paint products for transforming and protecting my pieces. With the Comfort Grip sprayer! That lets me do a lot more spraying without finger fatigue.

What interests you most about DIY projects?
Being able to create or transform something myself into exactly (or somewhat close) what I want.

What's the best DIY project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?
A neighbor was giving away a wooden kitchen cart and with some cleaning, sanding, light repairs and 2 colors of Rust-Oleum 2X spray paint, I turned it into the perfect way to store several of my appliances. It looks great in my dining room, is extremely functional, and kept the cart from the landfill.

What's the most difficult project you have tackled?
In progress - I am currently working on refinishing most surfaces in our hall bathroom. So far the biggest challenge has been removing all the wallpaper, ugh.

If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design and why?
I would like to build an entertainment/storage unit for our guest bedroom. There's a huge, old ugly particle board stand in there now. I'd love to create the exact unit that's in my mind. It would be nice to get the monstrosity out of there. I don't have experience or knowledge of how to build something like that, but I hope to talk my husband into helping me do it.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.
I'm "Santa's Helper" each year. My husband and I go to local nursing homes to visit residents. We have also done it for photo sessions at pet charities - that will put some wear on a Santa suit!

What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?
I read a quote a long time ago that has always stuck with me, and I try to remember it each day. "The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures, and have courage when things go wrong."

What book(s) are on your nightstand right now?
I haven't started it yet, but really looking forward to starting this weekend. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah.

What's your all-time favorite food?
Too many, unfortunately at times! My aunt just came for Thanksgiving and made our family's lasagna. It's a true labor of love, a 2-day process. The last piece is in my fridge, sad to see the end of it.

Thanks for participating in this feature, @AmAtHome! We're so glad you're a part of this community.
