New Member Shout Out!

Submitted to What's New

Spring is here, and we’re highlighting some of the talented and creative people who are new to the Creator’s Studio community – welcome folks!

Blogger mrsblackstone joined us in the summer and has been sharing her projects and inspiration with our gang. We think this Repurposed Cake Closet is smart as a cookie – upcycling a freebie cabinet to corral holiday equipment, ingredients, and yummy finished products in one great looking spot.

And check out these amazing DIY Farmhouse painted floors she created. “With a painted sub floor unscrewing the wood getting to the problem fixing and putting the wood down can be done with minimal to no damage. And if it happens to scuff no problem adds to the worn look I am going for. I would highly recommend trying it! The best part is when I tire of it I can repaint! Cleans up well also. I have painted the bedroom floor, so I decided to add a couple of photos. This floor was a bit more complicated as there were 4 steps to achieve this worn wood look. First step a light washed coat of flat white painters touch 2nd step painting the faux wood lines - I used a board. 3rd lightly dry brushing on the dark grey letting the wood grain appear in some places so I went a bit darker in some places than others. 4th I mixed a batch of watered-down white gloss painters touch and worked the diluted mixture into the wood using a rag.”

Next is Graysattic, a small business owner whose motto is “if you see it as trash, I see it as a challenge!” Her fun fall décor projects had us wanting more, and she didn’t disappoint with her Deck Your Door submission during the holiday season.

And finally, a shout out to HLabarbera. Her drool-worthy DIY carport-turned-patio and backyard redo is the inspiration we need right now to turn our thoughts to spring and the upcoming season of outdoor living.
