Why did you join Creator’s Studio?
My first introduction to the Creator’s Studio was entering “Trash to Treasure” where I took an old TV case and made it into a shelving unit, then I was hooked.
What is your favorite part of the Creator’s Studio community?
The people of the community and the challenges. I love looking at what others are working on and always in awe of the creativity within this group. The challenges give me some incentive to work on and complete projects I really wanted to do.
How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger?
My job is like my creative side. In my occupation I often have to change what I am doing on the spur of the moment. I may have my day planned, but life happens and changes must be made immediately.
What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product? How has it helped you with your DIY projects?
That is difficult, since I love so many of the Rust-Oleum products, but if I had to pick one, I would say the Rust-Oleum spray paints (2X Ultra, Imagine and Metallics). I have a rather large collection on hand most of the time. I love that I can quickly change something old to look new again in very little time.
What is the best DIY project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?
My workstation I built during the beginning of COVID. This was also my most difficult project with time constraints, the newness of teleworking and weather constraints. Rust-Oleum’s work center challenge couldn’t have come at a better time.
WorkstationTell us a bit about what you've done! How did you go about this project? Share your steps with us here.Recently my Grandson took the bed we had in our hunting room. This room had become storage space for everything. I am all about a challenge and when the “Wonderful Workstation Challenge” came up, it motivated me to incorporate an office space and finally seek the space I needed. I finally found a desk at habitat for humanity I thought I could work with. I wanted just the bottom. I started by taking it apart and spraying all of the file cabinets and corner pieces Flat White. Next I sprayed all of the pulls with hammered steel. My husband helped me cut plywood and rip pine boards for the top of my desk. I wanted this desk to be larger, but less stocky then the original. Once it was all in place, I stained it with Cognac and an overlay of Kona. I wanted storage added that the original didn’t have and built it so I could have bins and baskets. The baskets in front underneath hold all the cords. I am very pleased with how it all turned out.As you tackled your workstation upgrade (or new build!) what elements were you most focused on? Drag and drop items from one column to the next, and then organize in order of importance.1. Design (Colors, layout, etc.)

If you could complete any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design?
LOL… Not sure if I can just have one. I am consistently jumping from one DIY to another.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know about you.
After 19 years working in the teaching field, I left to become a stripper. Do I have your attention now? LOL, actually, my foot in the door where I work today was stripping large aircraft and sandblasting of parts. So, I actually did strip for a living for about a year before moving on. I now work on the other side as a program manager for the last 17 years.
What is the best advice that anyone has ever given you?
“It doesn’t matter if everyone loves what you make as long as you do.”
What’s your all-time favorite food?
My new favorite is Pizza in a Bowl.
