Submitted to What's New

Creator's, we are sooooooo excited to introduce you to the newest addition to our Creator's Studio team - today we are featuring Amy, who joins Katy, Nicole, Andre, and the rest of our Rust-Oleum gang here in the Studio!

What is your job at Rust-Oleum?
My title is Social Content Specialist. I help to develop the content you see on our social channels, i.e. Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram and on our website’s Inspiration section. I love my job because it allows a lot of creativity while working hand in hand with our brand marketing teams and our studio team to develop really engaging content!

How long have you worked here?
I have worked at Rust-Oleum for almost 14 years. It’s a great company to work for because they allow their associates the ability to learn different skills and jobs within the company. I’ve been lucky to have had previous experience working in our Quality Control lab, Product Support, Sales and Corporate Communications all within Rust-Oleum!

What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community?
Seeing all the amazing creativity! I am in awe of how talented this community is! I am also wowed by the wonderful stories I’ve heard of kindness from the community. I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone!

How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger?
I would say creative, which describes both myself and aspects of my job as well!

What creative areas do you like to focus on?
It varies really, while painting is a huge focus on what I do, I also work with glass etching, shadow box designs, shirts, and tote bag designs and reverse canvases! I also enjoy baking and making chocolate treats and designing dessert tables.

What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product? How has it helped with your DIY projects?
That’s a tough question, we make so many fantastic products for so many different applications! I think I would have to say our Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover, I love all the beautiful colors it is available in! I once took a selection of all different shaped mirrors purchased at big box stores and thrift shops, I painted them all in Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover Gloss White to unify them for a mirror wall in my living room.

What interests you most about DIY projects?
How you can really let your creativity run free, it could be a small project or a very large undertaking. One of my favorite aspects of our products really allows you to have a huge impact on your DIY projects! I do find that paint is one of my favorite ways to transform many projects.

What's the best DIY project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?
Re-decorating my living room with both new and old décor that I brought back to life with a variety of paint projects.

What's the most difficult project you have tackled?
Redoing my countertops with our Countertop Transformation Kit, the end result was worth it. So rewarding, it completely changed the look of my kitchen!

If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design and why?
A portal that would allow me to travel anywhere in the world and back home in the blink of an eye!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.
It’s actually something that all my friends and family know about me, but I would like to share it with the community. I am a total Francophile, I love everything about France and especially Paris! It makes me smile when someone tells me they saw something French and it reminded them of me! 😊I am also a proud dog mom to my little fur baby Milly and I love spending time with my 5 year old nephew Connor. He’s my favorite little guy and always makes me smile! Another fun fact, my husband and I love going to concerts, especially outdoor concerts in the summer.

What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?
Things always happen for a reason. Why it might not seem like it at the time, I have found that to be true time and again.

What book(s) are on your nightstand right now?
I just started on a book club read, "A Year in Provence" by Peter Mayle. I also enjoy reading books on baking, cooking and home decorating and any book by David Lebovitz!

What's your all-time favorite food?
Another tough one! 😉 I would have to say steak tacos with onion, cilantro and a little lime or my Mom’s cheesy broccoli rice casserole, yum!

Thanks so much for having this little Q&A with us @AmyTruemper! Creators, let's give Amy a great big welcome to our wonderful community 😄.
