I decided to try out the Modern Master metallic paints that I received on a rose backed chair and possibly a wickerback chair if I had enough paint. After painting the rose back chair in silver as the base coat I found a little paint goes a long way. I then proceeded to paint the wicker backed chair also in silver.

Since the silver was opaque, I felt it would be a good choice to begin my project.

As I worked I used a sponge brush, rags for detail and smoothing and dry brush. The hardest part was the picking the colors that I would use. This pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit, but I was glad it did.

*****Ok it is raining today so I decided to do a third project. I decided to revamp the floor mirror I built a few years ago. I painted over the green and gold with a dark gray base coat . For this project I used copper, gold and silver

Rose Backed Chair steps

cleaned with TSP
sanded
painted silver as the base coat using foam brush
hightlighted leaves with green using a rag (This was a learning process for me. I wanted the leaves to stand out more so I painted a dark grey acrylic on and then repainted with the metallic green.)
highlighted flower petals with gold and copper using a rag
dry brushed gold over whole chair
next I used some dark wax to to the flower and leaves
Lastly, I used a rag to apply some pearl and covered cushion with new material that has small silver threads throughout

I used 5 colors on this chair: silver, green, gold, copper and pearl.

Wicker Backed Chair Steps

cleaned with TSP (no sanding since chair was in good shape)
painted silver as base coat using foam brush
dry brushed gold
used a rag to add some pearl
finished by adding some dark wax to this chair and burlap to cushion

I used three metallic colors on this chair: silver, gold and pearl

Standing Mirror Frame Steps

Painted base dark gray
paiinted bottom of frame copper
next layer gold
top layer silver ( between each layer I would spray with a fine mist of water and take a foam brush to smooth out and blend.).
After dry I did this again about three times
on the bottom corners I added gold
on the top corners and the center decorative piece I added cooper then gold

Lastly.... I decided to try burnt orange along with silver and gold on a $2 dollar garage sale box.

I first painted the box black. Then I used a brush to paint orange, silver and gold. I continued to paint and layer until I was pleased with the look. Finally, I tried something different with the technique I chose. I took a heat gun to the paint until the paint bubbled a bit giving a bit of an antiqued and aged look.

Overall, the process was easy. I am in love with this product! ❤️❤️❤️
