Inspired by the visually interesting red capped mushroom, having imported mushroom wrapping paper purchased from resale venue years ago.

Wished to add optional removable woodland creature for interest decided to go the fantasy route.

2 piece form was a layered build with existing supplies.

Consisted of: wood thingy from thrift store, cardstock, foam, al foil, cardboard tube, tapes, glues, plastic cup, water putty, air dry clay—>oven bake clay, caulk, poster board, crepe paper.

Tried a homemade recipe for air dry clay.

Found clay to be more elastic +sticky than dense -unhappy with consistency. Strike 1

Tried air dry clay.

Poor preformance. Cracking occurred with overnite drying. Strike 2

Switched over to oven bake clay.

Underside cap texture was created by a streaking a caulk skim coat

Two piece mushroom assembled + glued.

White flaky crust spots were baked separately, applied.

Sealed

Additional smaller mushrooms were made with OB clay +same striated caulk underside.

2 mushrooms were made using mini glass jars, foil, wood slice +OB clay.

3 small mushrooms intended for ornaments/decor made sponge brush stick+ foil, wood slice +OB clay.

Fantasy accessory

Made 2 wire armatures.

Larger one malpositioned to mushroom size

Smaller wire armature modeled into sitting whimsical woodland elf jester.

Wire armature covered with OB clay. Baked

Some finer details Gator + dremmel sanded smooth after clay cure.
