Fire Pit

I purchased a fire pit last year and it's rusty and lost most of  the black paint on the metal. I would like to paint the fire pit. What products can I use for this metal fire pit and is there a product that would help with the rust. I do keep the fire pit out of the sun and rain since I live in FL, but when we are using it I leave it out over night for it to cool off. Thanks for your help.
