Doug fir stain advice

So we decided not to move but now I want to change my old dirty carpet and add this gorgeous Doug fir. I’m stuck though. Why? I love the wood. I just learnt that to use lye and white wash for this type of flooring has two drawbacks: 1. It doesn’t stop stains (I have 7 year old boys) 2. It has to be recoated every one-2 years. My question? Is there a stain from Rust-Oleum that would stain and block but give a whitewash effect to the wood color similar to the picture!
