Repurpose tins for ornaments- two ways

Repurpose idea.

Winding down with Christmas crafting ornament factory, today found a way to deal with these elephant sale Swedish tins. Believe I purchased a bag of them for $1. Commonly they are seen used as wonderful 3d dimensionally as seen on these pinterest examples for shadowbox ornament making.

Alternatively-I found that pounding them flat with a small sledge hammer and piercing the top with a nail to make a hole for hanging to be a second way to offer a surface to decorate further. Both sides offer an interesting different profile to use.
I sprayed these with 2x aluminum for uniform base coating. They could be aged- if patina was desireable —initially I was considering using vintage Santa die-cuts inside.

I think I’ll save them for valentines crafting while I finish up my last few projects already in progress- I really do need to stop Christmas crafting at some point.
