Football Helmet
I've got to admit, this project gave me fits!!! Nothing was going right, and I ended up sanding it all down and starting over. Finally, the second round went a lot smoother. I decided to make a stencil on my Cricut, and adjusted everything for this big sign....a whopping 26"x20"! The sign started off as a 1/2" board that I sketched the football helmet on, and had my hubby cut out on the bandsaw. The green, silver, and black paint I got in team colors (can you believe that there's a paint brand that has team paint colors), and the white was Rust-Oleum's Chalked paint in Linen White. When all touch-ups were done, I applied Rust-Oleum's Chalked protective topcoat in Matte Clear. I'm sooooo in love with Chalked paint....it's the perfect application for professional results! Lastly, I attached a strap hinge and 1x2 board to the back of the sign so it can be displayed in the yard for game day.
