How To Distressed Wooden Sign Using Chalk Paint and Elmer's Glue

Submitted to Community Chat

For this project, I used dark walnut stain, Rust-Oleum Chalked Paint in Linen White, and Elmer's liquid glue.

Step 1:

Stain your sign in your preferred color. You can skip this if you don't want the stain colored letter.

Step 2:

Apply liquid glue wherever you want distressing to show. The more glue you apply, the more distressing will appear.

Step 3:

Before your glue is dry, apply you chalk paint over your entire sign.

Step 4:

Once your sign is dry, distressing should appear, and you can style as wanted.

It's that easy! And the best part is, it requires no elbow grease from sanding. The glue gives this sign a natural distressed and aged look.
