Piano Pew

A guy was cutting up church pews with a chainsaw outside a church in Detroit. Said they received new ones. I snagged this one   It is 7 ft long and extremely heavy. I had been considering a bench of some sort for under a tree outside. 

I did a lot of sanding. I did cover it with Kilz first. Then Rust-Oleum white enamel. I taped off the “keys” on the seat and used Rust-Oleum black enamel. The musical lines and notes are hand painted with acrylic. Then I put several coats of Rust-Oleum clear enamel. I know this pew is not meant to be outside but we’ll enjoy it as long as it lasts. Oh, I did drill holes along the back of the seat so water will drain and not sit on it.
