Patriotic Star w/paint sticks!

Submitted to Community Chat

Here's an easy craft (and cheap!) for the upcoming Independence Day using 21" paint sticks. I used five for each star, they cost $ .98 for a pack of three.  I stained each one using Varathane Briarsmoke stain. When the stain was dry, I lightly sanded the edges for a worn look.  I glued the edges of the star using clamps until they dried. I think it's time for me to invest in some more spring clamps. I figured out that each inside angle should be 36 degrees (180/5 = 36). I cut a 36 degree angle piece of cardboard to use as a guide. I let the glue dry overnight, added a patriotic bow and some stars (dollar store) and hung it up!
