Trivet

Making a wood slice trivet. It is a wood stump, sliced, stained and then has a design painted on top with acrylic paint.  Then I'm using the clear high heat (automotive) sealant.  Bottle directions say to bake the item a few times after coating it...anyone know if baking the wood will be fine? It's not going to catch fire in my oven is it with the stain and other paint underneath...also being wood?  Just want to check to be sure :) Thanks!
