DIY Kitchen Table Face-Lift

Submitted to Community Chat

It was time to replace our well loved dining table top.  I love the farmhouse look so we decided to build our own.  I love the detail on the legs and the base itself was in good shape so we decided to spruce it up and reattach to the new top once complete.  This helped keep our make-over cost down.  We brightened the legs and apron with a fresh coat of primer and paint.  The legs have a nice shape and are strong so we decided to make those features more noticeable.
To make the table top, we used the plans from
Rogue Engineer and adjusted the measurements to fit our base. We stained and distressed the top to give it a "not so new" look & feel.
We are very pleased with the end result.  The legs no longer go unnoticed but they don't distract the eye from the beauty of the wood either.
I am amazed at how a little bit of paint and wood can totally change the look and feel of a space.
