Project 20 years in the making........

Many years ago, ok 20 to be exact, I thought I'd like to make this nativity set.  Having no experience with woodworking, apart from watching my dad and straightening nails, I thought, how hard can it be?

I bought a 2 x 8 and set out cutting out the pieces.  Working full time, driving 2 hours a day to and from work and having two small children didn't leave a lot of time.  Progress was slow.  Cutting out the second of the three kings, I screwed up his head and didn't have any more wood to cut another one.  By this time Christmas was over and I just put it away.  In the ensuing years we've moved a couple times but never had a space to pull this stuff out. Now in retirement I decided, I was either going to finish it or throw it in the garbage.  No more carting it around. 

Well, I managed to fix the king's head reasonably well and continued on.  I'm so glad I did.
