Help! Top hutch

Hey guys! I bought an old hutch from a good will in the summer. I re-finished the bottom half and I am in love!!! My husband and I were going to get rid of the top half because we though we couldn't really use it any where in our new place. I've been hunting for an old mantel for my living room since we do not have a fire place. ( I love decorating mantels for each season!!)  I have been out of luck in my search for a mantel so we tried the old top hutch piece and it actually works great in the space! Now my question is what to do to spruce it up??  Should I add a bottom and some feet? I like the natural wood look however the drawers are all scratched up.... how can I redo them? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!
