Rustic Media Center

Last year for Christmas, I decided to make my in-laws a media center that would coordinate with the coffee table I made them the year prior.  I have several favorite bloggers I look to for inspiration and came across a great design from Rogue Engineer.  The original plan dimensions made the piece 35" tall, which was a bit too tall for their space, so I decided to eliminate the upper shelf and use 2x8's for the top instead of 1x8's for a thicker, more substantial look.
