Indian Motorcycle logos in wood

When I was young my grandmother had a plaque on the wall of an Indian, she said my grandfather had gotten it from a Pontiac dealership in Toledo, Ohio. I was always intrigued by this carving and I believe this really started my interest in woodworking and carving. These carvings just remind me of that. They are carved from 2 inch poplar finished with Varathane fast dry stains and Rustoleum 2x clear finish. I have also added a picture of the carvings before staining. I really enjoy doing retro style carvings, applying the finish is the magic, bringing out the grain of the wood and the detail of the carving is a great moment.
