Trash to treasure need your experience

Hi all. I am converting a kind of broken down twin jogger for toddlers into a kayak carrier. I want to add some color to the metal framework, but don’t have experience painting on metal, especially when rounded ‘pole’ surfaces. I welcome tips to keep the paint from running. I’m thinking spray paint. I don’t want to disassemble it all to paint. And lastly, color ideas? Shiny or matte?

as the kayak may bump or rub on some areas not sure if I should paint it. Help please! Thanks in advance.
