Tile prep before using RockSolid Home floor paint

What kind of prep is needed if floor tile is cracked (just a hairline, no large gaps)? If only a small amount of paint is needed to stencil an accent, can regular latex paint be mixed in to tint it? I would be reluctant to buy an entire gallon just for a small area.
