Challenge Brief

We are getting ready to launch a brand new ad campaign, and as part of that we’re putting together a big, exciting kick-off video. Since we’re a company with DIY in our DNA, we want this campaign to showcase some of our favorite people (Creator's Studio members) and their work.

In order to make this whole thing happen, we need videos from you. Have a project idea you haven’t done yet? Great, get someone to shoot you making it. Got a video of a project you’ve already done? No problem, we’ll take that too. We want to see you getting down and dirty, making something you’ll be proud to show off. If we like what we see, there’s a chance you’ll be included in our launch video that’ll be watched by people across the country.

Submission Criteria

You don't need any special equipment - your smartphone will do. We aren't looking for perfect projects and techniques, rather we want to see the experience, the process and the emotions you feel when hard at work. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Your project must show you using a Rust-Oleum paint product (spray paint or brush on)
  • You can paint anything/anywhere you like but outdoors is probably best for lighting
  • Submit as many times as you like
  • You can show off new or previously completed projects
  • Videos should be no more than 2 minutes in length
  • Videos should be filmed horizontally and can be filmed with your smartphone
  • You will need to upload your video to YouTube as well as share the video file with us directly

The Process

Your video must be submitted by midnight CST on June 10. All videos submitted in this challenge will be evaluated by our panel of Expert Reviewers. Challenge winning videos may not be selected for the final cut of the Canmade Pride campaign, however all videos, regardless of whether they are selected for the ad campaign will be eligible for prizes.

All videos submitted will become the property of Rust-Oleum and we may use them in future ad campaigns. For more information about the content you submit in the Creator's Studio, please review the community's Terms of Use.

The Prizes

A selection of prizes including gift cards to the Home Depot, Menards and Lowe's as well as Rust-Oleum products will be awarded totalling over $1000! Get filming!
