Remove rust from tools

Does rust-oleum make a product that I could ust to remove rust from tools.  I have tools that were my fathers and grandfathers that over the years have gotten surface rust and even some of my own tools.  I know that salt and vinagar can remove the rust but if left to long can actuall pit the metal and with some old tools I have seen it actuall destroy the metal beyond use.
