What stands out to me is both creative and educational —but not any one person…..in my comprehensive learning and mentoring situation.

Our local Extension Master Gardening instruction staff.

A group of fabulous people- all the coordinators, instructors, including guest lecturers that were often regional Cooperative Extension Agents. Collectively they assisted with broadening basic researched evidence based horticulture understanding, best practices and how to research and mitigate problems encountered, along with a dedication working with the public in educational and supportive way.

Some were quite passionate about their fields particularly the agent Guy Mussy in the entomology field. I would often intentionally attend/revisit his same presentations (reruns) - in the subsequent new classes after my graduation.

Might seem unusual- gardening but its truly creative, transformative, both as a visual and potentially edible project, supports our pollinators and a feel good hobby.

Classes helped ensure gardening success and understanding and after certification offers volunteering opportunities for public support outreach and education.

Once you learn about seeds, rooting, division and propagation techniques new doors open…….lots of free plants to create/multiply 🌸

So this is creating ….curating, but this time without paint.
