Color of the Year 2024 was recently launched, and to celebrate, our community team presented an exciting product testing opportunity to Creator's Studio Superfans : sign up to test the 2024 Spray Paint Color of the Year !
Rust-Oleum's 2024 Spray Paint Color of the Year is Satin French Blue.
Each Superfan who signed up for this exclusive opportunity has been asked to test out Satin French Blue on one of the follow projects:
- an outdoor item
- indoor décor
- furniture
- a small statement piece

Tell us about your 'Color of the Year' project. What did you create and how did it go? Are you happy with the final product?
Although I already turned in one project, I had a chance to do a couple others, and thought I'd submit these as well.
First, I decided to paint a small side table or plant stand I had acquired from a family member. I love its little corner brackets!
Next, I updated a small footstool with storage, which I had bought at a local thrift store for a few bucks.
I love how each of these turned out!
As I mentioned in my other submission, I had bit of trouble with spraying these, as the spray sometimes came out of the can in a rough, sandy texture. That "sand" rubs off, as well...so odd!
The side table sprayed up beautifully...nice satin finish. The footstool sprayed a bit sandy, but after resanding those areas a bit, I got a nice satin finish. I haven't figured out what causes the sandy finish...it happens seemingly randomly, sometimes with a can that sprayed perfectly on a previous project, sometimes with a new can. Any tips are appreciated!
Nonetheless, I'm thrilled with both of these projects, and I love the Color of the Year!
Awesome color! So fun and springy. I will definitely be using it on more accent furniture and home decor projects!
