Color of the Year 2024 was recently launched, and to celebrate, our community team presented an exciting product testing opportunity to Creator's Studio Superfans : sign up to test the 2024 Spray Paint Color of the Year !
Rust-Oleum's 2024 Spray Paint Color of the Year is Satin French Blue.
Each Superfan who signed up for this exclusive opportunity has been asked to test out Satin French Blue on one of the follow projects:
- an outdoor item
- indoor décor
- furniture
- a small statement piece

Tell us about your 'Color of the Year' project. What did you create and how did it go? Are you happy with the final product?
I have a few things in my project pile and decided to paint this piano bench. I thought the blue would look great on these detailed legs. This bench is a great size and can be used as a bench or side table. Storage inside is a nice bonus and a little extra surprise as well.
I am very happy with the final result. I love the contrast of the brown top with floral embellishments as well as the decoupage paper surprise inside.
The satin blue worked great. It has wonderful coverage and it’s a great color. However, this isn’t my kind of blue. I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and my mom had this color everywhere. Dusty blue, dusty rose and brass are ruined for me lol.
I do think it would be a great exterior color. Lightens up nicely in the daylight and a moody blue in the evening.
