Why did you join Creator’s Studio?
I joined Creators Studio after seeing it mentioned on social media. I enjoy following furniture refinishers and flippers.
What is your favorite part of Creator’s Studio community?
I am always happy to learn new techniques and gather new ideas.
How would you describe yourself and occupation to strangers?
I am a wife and proud Mom. I have spent much of my working life raising my wonderful children and other children either working in my local school district or as a nanny.
What creative areas do you like to focus on?
I love paper crafting whether it’s card making or scrapbooking or DYI wedding crafts. Another area I focus my creativity on is painting furniture. Furniture upcycling is a new love of mine.
What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product? How has it helped with your DYI?
My favorite product is Rust-Oleum Chalk Paint. This chalk paint is affordable and very durable. I have faith that the furniture that I refinish will be beautiful and usable.
What interests you most about DYI projects?
One of the best parts of my favorite DYI projects is repurposing furniture and giving it a new life and out of the landfill.
What is the best DYI project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?
One of my very first chalk painting projects is my favorite. I found and chalk painted a huge hutch. I may be a Minnesota girl but I have a love of pink flamingos. I have collected several flamingo pieces and wanted a place to display them. The hutch took me a very long weekend to complete. It was a learning process.
What is the most difficult DYI projects you have tackled?
I can say hands down the most difficult DYI project I have completed is a farmhouse style table and matching chairs. The chairs were very time consuming.
If you could create any type of project ( with no limatations), what would you design and why?
I would create a work space so I could paint and refinish furniture all year round.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know about you?
I am a huge fan of True Crime shows and serial killer documentaries. I love to travel but I am always ready to go home after a few days.
What’s the best advice that anyone has ever given you?
Believe in yourself and always do your best.
What books are on your nightstand right now?
Way too many books to mention. I enjoy romance books and psychological thrillers.
What shows are you streaming?
Cold Justice, Law and Order anything, Long Lost Family, Call the Midwives and any true crime programs.
What’s your all time favorite food?
Grilled chicken, French silk pie and anything I don’t have to cook.
