The Creator's Studio community is filled with interesting, creative folks - today we meet long-term member and Superfan @Leahwiebe!

Why did you join Creator's Studio?

I love DIY and used Rust-Oleum products often so it seemed like a fun community to join.

What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community?

I love the challenges. I’m always painting and transforming something. So it’s fun when someone else gives me a challenge.

How would you describe yourself/your occupation to a complete stranger?

By trade I am a veterinary technologist.  I work casually/part time since having kids and that allows me to be a stay at home mom as well.

What creative areas do you like to focus on?

Focus?  Is creative ADHD a thing?  I love paint, all paint. But I like to try everything. Woodworking, epoxy, furniture restoration, tile and glass work. Pretty much if I can find the instructions and the supplies, I will try it.

What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product? How has it helped with your DIY projects?

Hands down spray paint!!!!!  Spray paint can quickly and easily can transform anything!!!!!

What interests you most about DIY projects?

I often get ideas in my head if something that would work in my house or in a certain space and or course you can’t buy it in store. Or can’t buy that size or that color but with diy I can make anything work, and I do.

What's the best DIY project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?

This is a hard question bc we recently bought a fixer upper house and have been doing sooooo much diy.  But the project I’m about to submit for trash to treasure is probably the one that shocked me the most with its transformation. Stay tuned……

What's the most difficult project you have tackled?

A 1978 never updated or maintained home lol.

If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design and why?

My brain can’t seem to think beyond all my house projects right now. So in keeping with that theme, I’d love to rip out the red/orange basement carpet and do a painted/stenciled cement floor. I think that would look so neat.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.

This is always a shocking one to people. I was scared of dogs. And pretty much still was when I graduated from being a veterinary tech. I am not anymore lol.

What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?

When it comes to DIY, just keep playing with it until you like it. Lots of projects go through an ‘ugly’ phase lol.

Glad to get to know you better, @Leahwiebe! 👋🏼
