Submitted to What's New

Today we are pleased to profile Creator's Studio member Refuse Reuse, whose has been sharing his unique and delightful projects in the community for the last two years. We were awed by the Jersey Devil Sculpture, Super Mario Clock, (Look-Alike) Found Object Puppet, to name a few.

Why did you join Creator's Studio?

I joined Creator's Studio to share my art projects, and for the chance to test new Rust-Oleum products.

What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community?

I love seeing what other people make, and also what's new at Rust-Oleum.

How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger? What creative areas do you like to focus on?

I am an auto mechanic  and make art from junk that others throw away. I really like to assemble art projects from small pieces that I find.

What is your favorite Rust-Oleum product? How has it helped with your DIY projects?

My favorite Rust-Oleum product is Painter's Touch Ultra Cover.  It works great, has a wide selection of colors to complete my projects, and is inexpensive. It helps me get the look that I want and is easily available and cost-effective.

What interests you most about DIY projects?

I'm interested in improving my home with projects around the house. It's satisfying fixing something yourself. I also love to make art projects that let me be creative.

What's the best DIY project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?

The best DIY project just might be my recent basement floor coating. I loved the way rock-solid took my floor from dank and dusty to bright and cheery.

What's the most difficult project you have tackled?

The most difficult project I have done so far is converting our attic into a bedroom for our daughters.

If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design and why?

The project I would most like to do would be to build an electric guitar from scratch. I'd like to use only reclaimed materials such as very old wood, and make it look and sound beautiful.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.

I like to watch cheesy Hallmark-type movies with my wife.

What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?

Just do your best and don't try to compare yourself to others.

What book is on your nightstand right now?

A Bible.

What's your all time favorite food?

I like steak, although I don't eat it very often.
