Today we are spending time with @Nicole, who is one of the helpful product experts who answer questions in Creator's Studio!

What is your position at Rust-Oleum, and how long have you worked here?

I've worked with Rust-Oleum for 14 years and am the Manager for Product Support VH & Social Customer Care (helping customers however they reach us!), and we help our customers with their technical questions.

What do you appreciate the most about working at this company?

The people—seriously! I've held a few positions within my department over the years, and the people I have always worked with are incredibly hard-working. My team makes it easy to manage the department, because they are so respectful of not only our internal needs, but our customers are always the top priority for them.

Were you a DIYer before you started working at Rust-Oleum?

Though I didn't do DIY, I am a writer by nature. I love writing and teaching, and I am fortunate enough to be able to do both in my current role. And I'll mention that I have done some pretty crafty things since understanding and learning Rust-Oleum products!

What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community?

The evolution of the community and the friendliness! I am always so impressed by the community willing to help each other. Sure, we can come in and give advice, but it's always amazing to see peer-to-peer guidance, and this group is remarkable at doing so.

Which Rust-Oleum product do you use the most, and how has it helped with your DIY projects?

While I've done a lot of applications over the years, give me a can of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch, and I'm a happy camper. I restored an old dresser that I received from a friend, and turned it into a burst of sunshine in my room. I get lots of compliments on it as well! Not only that, but I also saw a fabric hanging wall piece at a store and was able to recreate it to my liking. I felt like I was on top of the world w/that accomplishment (and saved a lot of money!).

If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you design and why?

I would love to wallpaper a room by myself. I haven't done that before, and generally am afraid of tackling such a project. I rent, and lately I've been thinking about doing the renter-friendly wallpaper, but haven't mustered up the courage since I can't get a straight line to save myself!

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.

I have a degree in Communication, and a certificate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. In college, I was able to work in a prison for several months to teach inmates who were being released, by learning concepts of Shakespeare's The Tempest! One of the most fulfilling times in my life.

Also, I am a music lover, and it'll be rare if you do not hear music near me. I made the top % on Spotify's wrapped last year for listening hours!

What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?

I have had a lot of great advice, but in times when I do not feel as confident about asking something, I think of what my mom always has said to me. She will say, 'the answer is always no if you don't ask!' That's helped me in a lot of personal and professional situations.

You’re getting ready to kick back on the weekend. What will you be cooking (or ordering in) and what will you be reading or watching?

Oh, it'll be rare if I'm sitting – I am always on the go! In the last couple of months I had 3 weddings, two camping trips, and a trip to Florida!

I could eat tacos every day and never be sick of it!  When I do relax, I find myself watching some of my favorite content creators on YouTube (Anna Sitar, Raphael Gomes, etc), and listening to music. And since I love to spend time with my nephew, I am sure he'll con me to watch something with Minecraft!

Thanks for sharing your story with us @Nicole! We appreciate all the support you've provided in the community and it's great to learn more about you ๐Ÿ˜Š
