Many years ago my mom and I intended to go to the Renaissance Fair all dressed up and enjoy the feast together. Unfortunately, she passed before we were able to make that a reality, so when my niece suggested we go to celebrate her graduation I was all in! I decided I wanted to be a woodland holistic fairy/lady. I started with a free pair of crocks; I cut them to fit, sprayed painted them green, and added the DT & DG greenery. The laces are from a pair of Goodwill boots. The skirt is made from coffee dyed old sheets. There are two layers of individually spray painted leaves (I wanted them to remain crispy and make noise). The large maple leaves on the project are hand cut copy of a leaf from a special day with my son. The small leaves are on a DG 10 cent cord. I wanted the bodice to look like bark, so it is covered with DG streamers; due the type of material stretching and constricting this process took a few times. It has DT, DG, Rummage Sale, and Thrift Store greenery and also DT stickers. The acorns were picked at the cemetary from a previous visit. The moss came from several locations that included DT and my yard. The tote is made from old sheets and have the spray painted and DT leaves, the neighbor's disgarded ladybug, macrame coffee dyed strap made for DT cord, natural items from the yard, and DT herb containers. The rain poncho is a DT shower curtain with DT ties. It has spray painted leaves and a Testors craft painted fairy. The DG 4-7 cent seed packet butterflies will be neck art. As for glue, I tried DT liquid adhesive, however used hot glue to tack, DG Loctite, Fabric Modge Podge, and Elmers Craft Bond.

To make the occasion a little more special I painted the attendees of our group DT fans to accessorize. The handles were spray painted white and than alychol painted. My DT fan cloth needed to be removed it was replaced with hand dyed silk. The top is embellished with DT paper doilies and are stained and glazed.

Due to some unexpected happenings, to include weather and getting the flu, I did not complete the wings. If I decide to do wings, I will share them with the group in a future post. I also may add Testors gray and coffee to the bodice.

Lastly, I appreciate my family; whether it was assistance, ideas, or putting up with my mess :)
