We've lived in this house for 7 years and I've never liked the guest bathroom. It was boring and brown and plain, and not my style at all. This challenge inspired me to stop ignoring it, and finally make it a room I'm proud to have in my home.

I started by choosing my favorite color of the RockSolid Home floor paint, Seafoam. From here, the inspiration flowed, and a spa-like guest bathroom was born. When I realized I could also use the Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit to get rid of the shower tile as well, I knew I could say goodbye to the ugly brown forever!

After removing all of the old fixtures and vanity, I painted the top half of the wall with a slightly lighter shade of the Seafoam I would be using later on the floor. Then I used 3" and 4" wide strips of 1/4" luaun to create a board and batten wainscoting all around the bathroom walls. I built a modern new floating vanity/shelf with a wooden frame that I attached to the wall and then wrapped in finish plywood. The board and batten and vanity got several coats of glossy white, and the room was already on its way to an amazing transformation.

But that old, brown tile still needed to be addressed, because it was holding the transformation back. I used the Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit to paint two coats of white on the shower tile, giving it entirely new life. Then I reached for the Rock Solid Home and said goodbye to brown tile forever with a coat of the base paint color and two coats of the finish in semi-gloss.

To finish off the room, I installed new light fixtures with bright white lights, additional plumbing hardware in matching brushed nickel, and a glorious cracked glass finish sink that's reminiscent of sea glass. I added luxurious towels and decorative touches to bring it all together, and I could not be more pleased with the results. I'm certain my next guests will think they've stepped into a whole new house!
