Spooktacular DIY Challenge
Spooktacular DIY Challenge
Your community has spoken, and the winners have been selected. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who submitted a Spooktacular DIY project!
Read MoreChallenge Brief
In the spirit of the season, we’ve brewed up a Halloween themed challenge for you. While kids are preparing their costumes and candy bags, we want to see how you can use your DIY skills to enjoy the holiday too. The challenge is simple! Create a Halloween themed DIY project using at least one Rust-Oleum product.
Since there are endless projects you could choose, we are going to separate the challenge into two categories. Trick us with your crafting magic by turning an ordinary object into a Halloween masterpiece or treat us with your building superpowers by creating something from scratch.
You can submit as many projects as you’d like, but each project may only be entered in one category. To help you decide which category your Halloween creation fits in, take a look at the examples below and use this rule of thumb; if you transform materials (using paint, stain, glue, fabric, etc) enter the Craft It category and if you put raw materials together from scratch (wood, metal, plastic) then enter the Build It category.
Prizes
In addition to earning Creator Coins, we will be offering the winners gift cards to a home improvement center of their choice. There will be 2 identical sets of prizes (3 winners for the Build It category and 3 winners for the Craft It category) and they are:
- 1st Place: $1,000 gift card and a Master Creator badge in the community
- 2nd Place: $500 gift card
- 3rd Place: $250 gift card
The Criteria
- Build or Craft a Halloween themed DIY project.
- Complete your Spooktacular DIY Project submission (click here to find out what you need to submit).
- You have at least one photo of your project. Ideally we’d like to see before/after photos if you transform something (Craft It) and photos of your process if you build something (Build It).
- You share the Rust-Oleum products that you used. Be specific – let us know the product name and color.
Trick (Craft It)
Treat (Build It)
Once you decide on a project, we are looking to see how your item has been built and/or crafted. What Rust-Oleum products did you use (Testors products are also welcome)? Take us through the steps of your transformation and show us the end result.
The Rust-Oleum team will select a group of finalists for the community to vote on and the top 3 crowd favorites will be our winners!
