Flea Market Lamp
I found the hanging lamp with chain at a local flea market recently ($5..woo hoo!) and decided to make it a table lamp for our living room. ;) I didn't do anything to the lamp other than re-wire it since the old wire didn't have the plug-in on the end. It probably didn't hurt to give it a fresh wire anyway.
I built the hanging stand out of some 1 x 8 and 1 x 4 scraps I had. I stained those in Varathane Weathered Gray and roughed up the edges. I spray painted some metal brackets (that I already had in my stash) with Rustoleum Antique White, then I scuffed them up with a little bit of sanding too. Then I added a hanging hook for the lamp, wrapped the chain around the 1 x 4, and put an Edison bulb in...voila! A new table lamp that now resides on one of my recent side tables I built. Inexpensive and unique for sure!
