New garage cement floor

Do I need to use the etching step in the kit for garage floors if my home is newly built? I like to paint the cement to keep down dust and it is easier to clean over all. Normally I have purchased kits in hardware stores.  Like theYou Tube demo by the Mom & Daughter on painting the garage floor.

Since I will have a deep sink installed in the garage for cleaning up from gardening or washing the dogs. I do not want a paint that will be super slippery when it gets wet.  Open to suggestions.
