Plans for a Farm Table Using Reclaimed Wood
Hello everyone! I brought these boards home from our Grandparent's farm that were cut from trees on the property many years ago. I am guessing they are at least 60 years old. I have a lot of work ahead, sanding and leveling, to make them a nice table top in our kitchen, and fix up these ladder back chairs I found on Craigslist.
I really liked the Danish Oil I used on my recent project, restoring a cedar chest. My question is, if I use Danish Oil, what would be the best finish to use over top of it to protect the dining table surface? I have heard things like Tung Oil or a finishing wax...I just don't have experience with this those type of finishes. I have used poly many times, but don't want to do that with this surface.
Thanks so much for your help!!
