mirror mirror in the wall

I have a very blank side wall in the townhouse that is located in what is our 'yard'. heavy shade and want it to look more inviting. similar to picture. thought a mirror would look good, like a faux window, but live in Chicago and weather is a problem.

Could I use the mirror spray on the back of plexiglass, or a piece of MDF, and then seal with the leak seal or another product? do not want to invest many dollars.

the picture is an inspiration, have old shutters and thought I could hang them closed or open with a mirror.

good idea or not?
