Which Challenge(s) did you win?
I won the Wall Paint Challenge.
What did you love and what were your struggles with this project?
I LOVED the opportunity to choose a new color for my dining room, and the challenge gave me a deadline in which to get the project done. Finding time to do the project is often the hardest part. My only struggle was choosing a color - so many great ones to choose from. I love the outcome!
Enquiring minds want to know -- what did you do with your prize winnings?!
I used the gift card to buy more supplies for home update projects! Specifically, we used it to purchase landscaping supplies to update our yard.
Are you still DIYing?
Always! I always have a project going on for my own home, but I am also a vendor with a local vintage shop, so I am constantly creating items for the shop - upcycling something, refinishing something, creating a new use for something.
What projects do you currently have on the go?
I just finished painting a dresser for my daughter, beds and side tables for my other daughters, and I'm moving on to some more furniture painting projects for my shop before the cold weather sets in. I also have several old cabinet doors, and I'm looking for inspiration on what to create with those...
What's your favorite part of the Creator's Studio community? How would you describe this community to a friend?
I love to see all the creative upcycled projects - they are always so inspiring! It's fun to see what fellow DIY enthusiasts are up to. I would describe the community as a supportive, fun group of creative folks who offer advice and encouragement to others in the group...no mean spirit of competition, even during competitions! :)
Bonus: if you could dream up an epic DIY Challenge, what would it be? (And what 🏆 prizes would you offer?!)
Hmmm...tough question! It would be fun to see a really big challenge...maybe one that requires us to create several coordinating items that work together in a space. Or, a challenge that sends out a box of random things and requires us to created something out of it. I know we have had similar challenges, but we used our own items to paint...maybe you send us random parts this time. And prize? A lifetime supply of paint, of course!
