I deconstructed the dresser and cut the sides down to approximately 36".

I used a reciprocating saw to take apart the pallets. ( this part was so much fun!)

I used the pallet 2x4's as the horizontal framework along with the dresser sides.

I used a scrap piece of pegboard for the bottom, which I nailed in place.

At this point I spray-painted the framework with Painters Choice 2x black spray paint

I sorted the pallet boards and found ones that were worn, had knots, edges with bark and lots of character in them, to use for the sides and top. I used wood glue and nails to attach the pallet boards to the sides and top

The pallet boards weren't long enough for the front, so I used left over cedar boards from my raised garden beds. I used wood glue and screws to attach these boards to scrap pieces of 1x2's

Once the glue had dried I did 2 coats with the Varathane Aged Wood stain on all the pieces.

(FUN FACT - I received a container of the Varathane Aged Wood stain from this wonderful group and this is the 5th container of it that I have bought - I love the look it give to wood)

I then applied two coats of the painter's touch clear coat for protection, since this will be used in the kitchen.
