This beautiful blue Buddha was done to match my "East Meets West Rustic Privacy Fence" project I started over two years ago. I wanted this Buddha to blend into the landscaping, with the rocks, and the privacy fence. But I could not paint the Buddha until I finished the privacy fence project.

Unfortunately, Just as I got started on the privacy fence project, I was seriously injured in an accident (an accident unrelated to making the fence). So my matching blue Buddha project had to be put on the back burner as well. Having now recovered from the first of three necessary surgeries to literally "get back on my feet"; I decided to test out my increased mobility by completing a couple of the stalled projects. I'm grateful for this "Get it done challenge", and the motivation it gave me to complete this project. This area of the garden now brings me the peace and serenity I was looking to create over two years ago.

My process-

I love blending and layering colors of spray paint. And Rust-oleum spray paints work wonderfully for this method. For this Buddha makeover, I started by spraying the Buddha with Rustoleum Painter's Touch 2X -Satin "Deep Forest" green. Then I layered on satin "Paprika" for some rich and deep red undertones. After that, I just went wild and applied layer after layer of "Vintage Teal, Moss Green, Multicolor Textured, and Expresso", until I got the effect and depth of color I was looking for. I hand-applied some gold leaf paint for the final highlights.

The blue Buddha ended up blending perfectly with the rocks and stones I had chosen for the area in front of the privacy fence. Creating a serene and natural-looking area in the garden. I love how the colors of the Buddha change throughout the day depending on the sunlight or shadows.
