Googly-Eyed Iris Apfel Knock-Off Bracelet

Submitted to Community Chat

I was inspired to make an Iris Apfel Googly-Eyed Bracelet after seeing @Vimarhonor's rendition. This was my 3rd attempt at using epoxy resin, and I definitely can see I need more practice at it.

For this project I glued the googly-eyes to a strip of black leather that I cut to fit the mold. Once dry, I inserted the leather strip into the mold, and then slowly poured the resin in. As the bubbles rose to the top I used a heat gun to eliminate them. I then covered the bracelet mold to prevent dust and hair getting on it, and let it sit for 48 hours (can let it sit for up to 72 hours). I unmolded the bracelet and snipped away a few pieces of the resin that weren't flush with the bracelet.

Love how it turned out, but being the perfectionist, I'm not 100% happy with the final product. Going to go for a second try!
