DIY Rustic Wood Mantel

Hi all! I wanted to share a really unique project my husband and I completed recently. We needed a new mantel for our fireplace, and he had saved some wood from an old oak tree that was being cut down near his office.

He cut the wood down, sanded like crazy, and we used Rust-Oleum’s Varathane Triple Thick Polyurethane to seal it. It turned out to be absolutely gorgeous and I'm kind of shocked at how straightforward the project was!
